Welcome Back! 

I hope you have all had some time to rest and recharge over the summer. My name is Amy Johnson and I will be your provincial president for the 2026-27 school year. I’d like to introduce myself to you personally in this short video. I wish everyone a positive start-up and don't forget to take care of yourself as we begin another school year together. 

Next week, we will not send a President’s Message since we know it is a busy one. After that, you will receive a message from me every Monday. Since our email system sends each of these messages individually to approximately 6,000 Members, you may receive yours later in the day or into Monday evening.

Beginning in October, this seven-part series has been curated in partnership with the OPC Indigenous Leadership Circle to ignite deep thinking and reflection and connect our leadership with the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. Beginning in October, this five-part series, facilitated by Michelle Sigmann, is designed to uplift and empower principals and vice-principals to prioritize their mental health and well-being, lead well and model self-care for others. We invite you to join each session that will guide you in developing a personalized framework to manage stress, maintain focus and lead more effectively.

Share Your Story with The Register

Have a story from your leadership journey to share? The Register magazine’s Share Your Story column invites OPC Members to share personal experiences, reflections and lessons in approximately 450 words. Submit your idea by September 15 to be considered for the Winter issue. 

We’re also seeking articles and book or resource reviews on topics relevant to school leaders. Learn more and view the submission guidelines.
