Enrolment reporting drives the provincial grants that establish the board budget as well as the school allocation and staffing.

It is therefore critical for schools to be as accurate as possible in their categorization (resident, visa, ESL, etc.) and student average daily enrolment count. These counts are subject to Ministry audit.
