It is inevitable that a principal or vice-principal will be the target of a complaint due to the nature of their job. Administrators can face grievances (some leading to arbitration), lawsuits, complaints to third parties such as the Ontario College of Teachers or the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and/or complaints pursuant to internal board processes, such as human rights or workplace harassment complaints.[1] Should you be informed that a complaint has been initiated against you, contact the OPC and ask to speak to an intake consultant.
