Use the Internet to conduct online research and to find specific information that you need to help you carry out your responsibilities.

Bookmark your favourite sites and monitor them regularly. Here are just five of many:
  1. Bookmark your board website for quick access to policies and procedures.
  2. The Ministry of Education website is a comprehensive source of information. Check it frequently for updates. (www.edu.gov.on.ca)
  3. The Ontario Principals’ Council website provides professional advice as well as updates on professional development opportunities. (www.principals.ca)
  4. For quick reference to the acts and regulations governing education in Ontario, go to the E-Laws website. Here you can locate all pertinent legislation. You can even do an advanced search for a particular word (e.g. principal/s) or phrase (e.g. school councils) in all the statutes. (www.e-laws.gov.on.ca)
  5. Check out the Ontario School Boards’ Insurance Exchange website for a wealth of information about risk management in schools, from ski trips to occupier’s liability. (www.osbie.on.ca)
