need to help you carry out your responsibilities.
Bookmark your favourite sites and monitor them regularly. Here are just five of many:
- Bookmark your board website for quick access to policies and procedures.
- The Ministry of Education website is a comprehensive source of information.
Check it frequently for updates. (www.edu.gov.on.ca)
- The Ontario Principals’ Council website provides professional advice as well as updates on professional development opportunities. (www.principals.ca)
- For quick reference to the acts and regulations governing education in Ontario,
go to the E-Laws website. Here you can locate all pertinent legislation. You
can even do an advanced search for a particular word (e.g. principal/s) or
phrase (e.g. school councils) in all the statutes. (www.e-laws.gov.on.ca)
- Check out the Ontario School Boards’ Insurance Exchange website for a
wealth of information about risk management in schools, from ski trips to
occupier’s liability. (www.osbie.on.ca)
