Pediculosis
Pediculosis is not considered to be a disease. It is, however, an issue you may have to deal with at the school.
Review district school board and health unit protocols and fact sheets regarding head lice.
Use board forms, letters and information sheets when communicating with parents.
Train volunteers to conduct screening. Health units do not check heads. Send
general information to all parents and specific information to parents of affected
students.
If your school board or health unit does not have a comprehensive pediculosis
package, review programs from other school boards and health units.
