Ensure the staff know who the members of the JHSC are and know how to report concerns or questions. There is a duty under OHSA to post (in a conspicuous location at the school) the names, and where necessary, work location of the JHSC members.
Be constantly vigilant that staff comply with health and safety legislation, board policy and school procedures.
Post signs and health and safety information in the staff room, common areas of the school, and classrooms, as appropriate.
Include occupational health and safety issues on the agendas of staff, department head, and school council meetings, in school newsletters and on the website.
