Every board employee must provide service to students in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC). A failure to do so may result in a complaint to the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and/or employment consequences. It is the principal’s responsibility to follow and in-service school staff on the requirements of the board’s policy on Human Rights. Prohibited grounds for discrimination in the provision of services, goods and facilities under the OHRC include age, ancestry, citizenship, creed, colour, ethnic origin, disability, marital status, race, place of origin, family status, sex and sexual orientation.
