Don’t panic! The real target is likely the district school board. Inform your supervisory officer immediately and ask for direction. Call the Protective Services Team at the Ontario Principals’ Council for advice. Provide a statement and background evidence as requested by the OSBIE investigator. Request a copy of your statement and correct it if necessary. Don’t discuss the matter or share documents with anyone other than your supervisory officer or board lawyer.
Complying with relevant acts and regulations, following board policies and procedures and exercising good judgment and common sense will all help to significantly reduce any risks.
