It is critical to know and follow your board’s policies and procedures in relation to:
  • administering medication to students (e.g. Sabrina’s Law)
  • high-risk curriculum areas like science, physical education, family studies, design and technical studies
  • field trips and excursions
  • lockdown and evacuation plans
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, including workplace violence prevention program and workplace harassment policy
  • reporting accidents, incidents, injury and loss
  • supervision of students in halls, yards, etc.
  • transportation.

Report to senior administration, in writing, any concerns you have regarding your ability to implement the board’s policies and procedures.
