- When you call for assistance, give specific information to the police, paramedics and firefighters.
- Do not move any victims; call immediately for help.
- Co-operate with fire, police and medical personnel when they arrive.
- Inform parents/guardians and ensure they have transportation to the hospital.
- When no parent is available to be with a student at the hospital, send a staff member.

“The student is an 11-year-old girl who has recently been diagnosed as a diabetic. She is currently unconscious and her pulse is weak and thready. Her father has been called. He is five minutes away from the school. What is your estimated time of arrival?”
